Welcome to Pastmasterblogger. I’m Mainak Halder. The focus of this website is generation of revenue through blogs. Pastmasterblogger is geared towards small and medium-sized businesses, start-up bloggers, established bloggers, would-be bloggers, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized online retailers.
But what are my credentials?
After graduating in the year 2009, I started my corporate life working in the customer service department of a reputed organization. My daily schedule would be from 9 am to 7 pm. My task was to reach clients on phone and answer their queries issues related to phone.
At that time, I didn’t have any knowledge of computers except working on MS Word and playing games. After about 6 to 7 months of working in the customer service, I realized that I wasn’t enjoying the job…I felt like it was a burden.
With this realization, I started applying for other jobs but due to lack of a higher degree at that time, I couldn’t get a job. I even asked for referrals from close ones to apply for a better job but none supported me.
Some even went to the extent of criticizing me for not knowing computers and for not having a higher degree.
The thought of working from home even crossed my mind and wherever I went to demanded money from me. I even spent few hundred dollars with the expectation of earning some…but I was shattered. I kept spending without earning a dime.
I surfed day and night through online job portals applying for jobs that seemed to interest me and one day I landed on a freelancing site where I could bid and get projects. It seemed real somehow and that was the first time I tested my hand at making money online from home. It was the year 2010 in February.
I wasn’t cheated…because the terms and condition and the process of working seemed fair. I started getting projects slowly and was enjoying this work working from home.
I’d work as a freelance copywriter for clients across the world who were willing to pay me by the hour or by the project.
After six months of working online, I found myself to be in a secure place working as a copywriter with few long-term clients. Starting as a copywriter, I was slowly gaining experience in SEO and the niche got me interested.
With the help of few clients, I dived into the world of Internet Marketing and started practicing. I landed few projects on SEO and my journey started. Till now, I call myself a practitioner of SEO, not yet an expert because this is a huge niche.
My weekends and all my spare time was dedicated to creating micro niche sites on WordPress and experimenting the latest SEO trends on them. Right from a young age, my passion was computers but unfortunately, I couldn’t get into an engineering due to poor marks. But still, that’s what I am doing now…Creating blogs and sites on WordPress (I know it’s not equivalent to a php or .net site) and promoting them.
I always tell my clients that strategy and the right type of information will help any company grow, irrespective of their size and business model. The reason I say this was from my own experience.
Slowly, I started realizing the power of the written word. I dug around a little more and realized that there are many more bloggers like me who are responsible for a huge amount of content on the web. I also realized that most bloggers and small companies have no clue about the various revenue streams available to them. It was with this vision that I started www.pastmasterblogger.com.
As a blogger, I learned a lot about the various blogging tools all by myself. Similarly, everything about marketing, SEO and online revenue streams, were all learnt the hard way. So, today at Pastmasterblogger, we provide a lot of assistance to the blogging community. We have tutorials on various topics like WordPress, SEO techniques, blogging tips, etc. We have subscriptions options that keep our readers and bloggers up-to-date. We help upcoming bloggers reach out to our readers via the contributor column.
